Carols and Cocoa
The Choral Artists of Michigan are pleased to present Carols and Cocoa. Celebrate this holiday season with Christmas carols, a community sing along, and hot chocolate at the University Presbyterian Church, 1385 S Adams Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48309, Friday, December 6, 7:30 p.m. General Admission is $15 online before December 5 at 10 p.m. and $20 at the door. We recommend this discount by securing online ticket reservations ahead.
This choral festival features the Davison Middle School Mezzo Voce Ensemble under the direction of Michelle Wilson and Garth Starr, the Young Choral Artists of Michigan under the baton of Thom Blue, the CAM Chamber Singers, the CAM Community Chorus, and your voice lent to our holiday singing. This concert will be professionally recorded, so we respectfully request no children ages 5 and under. Although we love these little ones, we are unable to accommodate small children.
The CAM Chamber Singers are comprised of local vocal music artists that sing professionally throughout the communities of Metro Detroit; members are drawn from the opera choristers and paid choral scholars. The Community Chorus is a choral ensemble open to community members that are passionate about the choral art. The choir enrolls a diverse membership, and they perform varied works. Both ensembles perform choral masterworks and premiere new works by living composers. The combined choirs are under the direction of Dr. Jim Watson, Artistic Director, with piano accompaniment by Hannah Watson. The CAM is served by volunteer executives and board members, including the Artistic Director, Managing Director, and Treasurer.
This concert is supported in part by an award from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. CAM sponsors include Mettle Ops, Musical Resources of Toledo, Rochester Conservatory of Music, and the Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra.
